1. Primary Hypogonadism

Primary Hypogonadism is the most common type of the Hypogonadism that occurs in males as it is the type in which the person does not have enough sex hormones in his body that are required for its proper functioning. The Primary Hypogonadism occurs mainly due to the defects in the gonads or gonadal organs. In Primary Hypogonadism, the gonads are still receiving the messages to produce specific sex hormones from your brain, but these organs are not capable of doing so. Thereby, causing the deficiency in the sexual hormones in the body.

2. Secondary Hypogonadism:

This type of the Hypogonadism is not that common among the people but it is the type of the disease that is caused by the brain, not by your gonads. In this type of Hypogonadism, the parts of the brain hypothalamus and pituitary glands stutter to work properly. This, in turn is responsible for controlling the gonads in order to produce the sex hormones. A person, suffering from the secondary hypogonadism fails to hit puberty normally and also shows abnormal patterns at the end of puberty.

One of the major causes of the Primary Hypogonadism is the occurrence of the Klinefelter syndrome in the person. This is the condition of the disease which causes the congenital abnormality of the sex chromosomes X and Y. These chromosomes are consequential to maintain the genetic material in the new born. Normally, men boast single X and single Y chromosome. But in this condition, males can have multiple of X chromosomes in addition to one Y chromosome. These extra chromosomes, in the males due to the Klinefelter syndrome can result in the abnormal development of the sexual gametes and which, in turn can decrease the production of sexual hormones causing the Primary Hypogonadism.
